Homemade Orange Sponge Cake Recipe
- 1 orange thin-skinned juice
- 70 ml sunflower oil
- 250 gr of sugar
- 3 eggs
- 170 gr of flour
- 1 sachet of chemical baking yeast (16 gr of baking powder)
- 1 orange to decorate (optional)
Preparation of the homemade orange sponge cake recipe:
Chop the orange and put it in a bowl. Add the three eggs, oil and sugar. Crush everything with the blender.
When it is well crushed, add the sifted flour and the yeast chemistry. Mix everything with smooth and enveloping movements.
Spread a removable mold with oil and sprinkle some flour. Add the cake dough and put in the preheated oven at 180ºC for 40 minutes (with heat only below). After this time, remove it from the oven and let it cool before unmolding.
To decorate, you can cut an orange into very thin slices and sprinkle them with sugar. Let them stand for a few minutes and then place them on the cake.
Do not open the oven during the baking of the cake, as it will lose a lot of heat and the dough could be lowered.
